Young people are choosing not to drink when they go on vacation. In the U.S., young people with student loan debt are typically paying around $500 per month, with 17M debtors being under 24-years-old and 15M between 25-34-years-old. With such high amounts of debt, young people have to separate wants and needs—a big one being how they travel. While many are still booking trips, a survey from StudentUniverse found that 83% of 18-25-year-olds would consider taking a vacation that did not involve alcohol at all (which can save a big budget). But, is it necessarily a bad thing if young people are more conscious about their spending and consume less alcohol? (Thrillist)
