Instagram is developing a new “Peek” feature. Like BeReal, this feature encourages users to share raw, real-time moments from their daily lives without the pressure of editing or putting out “perfect” content. Given BeReal’s current struggles to retain users, a similar feature on Instagram could be more effective in promoting direct interaction and keeping users engaged, as it leverages the platform’s existing structure and user base to encourage more authentic connections.
