Spotify made nature an artist to generate funding for conservation projects. As part of the Sounds Right initiative, the artist page for “nature” has a mix of new and updated classic songs, that include natural sounds of course, from acclaimed artists such as David Bowie and Brian Eno, credited as “Feat. NATURE.” The project aims to generate more than $40M for conservation endeavors within its first four years, with backing from a community of over 600M listeners. Revenue collected will be channeled through the conservation nonprofit EarthPercent to fund projects dedicated to preserving and restoring biodiversity in threatened ecosystems worldwide.
