Cell phones are disrupting exercise routines and raising privacy issues in gyms. With society’s shift towards smartphone dependency, gyms remained a place where using a phone during a workout was frowned upon by most individuals in the room. But now, a growing number of young people are disregarding that norm and using their phones in yoga studios, workout classes, and anywhere around public gyms. There continues to be growing debate over filming in these places as you could unwantedly end up in the back of someone’s video or be distracted by screens during a gym session. But on the other hand, people are defending their right to film and believe working out is motivational and builds community online. (WSJ)
