Millennials are indulging themselves in destination weddings. Pricey and lavish weddings are trending—apparently thanks to Millennials— driving the marriage market on path to make nearly an extra $9B in revenue this year. But, although a fun and memorable idea, destination weddings are often seen to be a burden on guests and typically “don’t go off without a hitch,” according to wedding planners. It is uncertain what exactly is driving the theme for extravagant destination weddings among Millennials, but seeing others share their picture-perfect wedding photos in irresistible places on social media is definitely a factor.
