Feb 22 2024

The percentage of Black Americans owning a home is projected to rise significantly, driven by Millennials. A report by the National Association of Realtors shows that Black homeownership has increased and is projected to keep rising. As younger, more diverse gens enter the housing market, the percentage of Black Americans owning a home reached “44.1% in 2022, growing by 1.6 percentage points from 2012.” However, there is still a significant disparity in homeownership rates between Black and White Americans. But this positive trend towards more equitable homeownership opportunities for Black households indicates change in the coming years. (Newsweek)
