France is spearheading children’s rights on social media. The National Assembly just passed a milestone bill to better protect children’s image online in response to the excesses of parent influencers who share their family intimacy in search of fame and revenues. More broadly, the new law aims at stopping the malicious use of shared images of children online, as well as reminding their parents that they do not have an absolute right over their kids’ image. YPulse’s WE Social Media Monitor report shows 70% of young Europeans think children will be embarrassed by what their parents posted about them. (France Info)
