Some young British workers are turning down jobs due to the cost-of-living crisis. A recent study by the Prince’s Trust reveals that 10% of young people aren’t willing to take up job offers due to the associated costs of the jobs, such as having to buy specific clothing and paying for transportation. This financial burden is impacting disadvantaged youth the most, in turn leading to detrimental effects on their mental health and long-term career prospects. It’s no wonder the cost-of-living crisis is the top issue young Brits say they were facing last year. (The Guardian)
