Shelby Lattimore has transformed her classroom into a simulated economy, where students pay “rent” for their desks and chairs and can purchase classroom perks like homework passes. Her videos documenting these lessons have gone viral on TikTok and garnered over 27M likes. The lessons Lattimore is teaching not only provide students with practical life skills for the real world, but also help them understand and appreciate the challenges their guardians face while in a safe environment.
