The popularity of the Stanley cup has led to issues in middle schools across the country.

Jan 24 2024

The popularity of the Stanley cup has led to issues in middle schools across the country. Teens have caused a surge in popularity for the company’s $45 “Quenchers,” especially under the viral social media hashtag #WaterTok, where users proudly display their collections (yes, plural). However, the popularity of these tumblers has led to some issues stemming from social trends and the desire to fit in, with teens in particular considering them “cool and trendy” to have and feeling like they aren’t when they don’t have one. Parents and teachers are finding themselves having to teach tweens and teens that trends are temporary, and friendships shouldn’t be based on material possessions like who owns a specific cup. But on the other hand, some might feel inclined to purchase the cup and make their child’s life a little easier by following a trend to help them feel included. YPulse recently told you about the viral craze for the brand’s Valentine’s Day line at Target, and it seems reports that Gen Z were not as into the brand may have spoken too soon. (The Cut)
