Ed Sheeran will release a heavy metal track. The singer announced he’ll be guesting on the next album of the metal band Cradle of Filth later this year. While this move seems like a stretch from Sheeran’s usual tunes, it’s in line with young people’s preference for music and musicians to be defined outside of just genre. Data from YPulse’s Music report shows three in five young Europeans agree with the statement “Music artists of my generation don’t fit into a specific genre.” (Metro)
