Young people are using YouTube for financial advice more than TikTok. Insider Intelligence’s survey of 1,488 U.S. banking consumers reveals that YouTube is the primary platform for banking info online, with 60% of both Millennials and Gen Z using it. Contrary to Vericast’s report from 2022, Insider Intelligence suggests that YouTube outpaces TikTok in financial advice usage, with over 65% of Gen Z and over 63% of Millennials turning to the platform. Meanwhile, TikTok’s #FinTok community is particularly popular among younger Gen Z with nearly half seeking guidance there while Millennials show lower engagement with it. Notably, over 40M Gen Z are expected to be digital banking customers in the coming year, emphasizing the significance of YouTube and TikTok for financial brands. YPulse’s Fintech report data shows that about a quarter of Gen Z and Millennials trust YouTube to give them good financial advice while less than 20% say the same for TikTok. (Tubefilter)
