Gen Z is desperate for a career mentor. While iconic movie roles like Robin Williams’ character in Dead Poets Society emphasized the importance of mentors, research shows that only 52% of Gen Z report having one, despite 83% believing that having a mentor is vital to building a career. The rise of remote work is now seen as a barrier to mentorship, and of those Gen Z who are looking for one, they’re heading to in-person work environments for the much-needed human connection. Luckily, more companies are slowly adopting mentorship programs, but Gen Z’s demand might mean they need to work a little faster. (Fortune)
