Wellness tourism is projected to increase drastically in the next few years. As a result of the pandemic, society at large has increasingly prioritized lifestyle changes and emotional / mental health, in tandem to the returning of travelling. As such, the Global Wellness Institute says that “wellness tourism” will experience a forecasted growth of 20.9% by 2025 and contribute to $1.1B of the economy. The hospitality industry has consequently hopped on the wellness wave to cater to consumers, and hotels like Hilton have even partnered with fitness platform Peloton to bring Peloton Bikes to hotel fitness centers. The vice president of wellness at Hilton says, “we believe it is now imperative to weave wellness throughout the stay experience.” YPulse’s Travel report shows Gen Z and Millennials are eager to get back to travelling, and relaxation is the top driver of their interest.
