Several Chanel looks made guest appearances in the Barbie movie. If viewers of the hottest pink-filled film pay close attention, they can see several Chanel outfits sported by Margot Robbie—and this is no accident. The star of the Barbie movie is in fact a Chanel ambassador, so the French fashion house took advantage of the hype surrounding the flick and established an official brand partnership, creating five looks for Barbie, including three suits, a ski suit, and a dress. And there’s no mistaking which of the iconic doll’s looks were Chanel: with the classic tweed fabric and double C logo, viewers could clearly point out the designer’s creations. YPulse’s Fashion Preferences & Style report data shows that about a third of young consumers look to social media and 20% look to movies for style inspiration, so viewers of the hit movie are likely to be inspired by Barbie’s Chanel looks.
