Threads is already booming following its release on July 5. The Meta app linked with Instagram and competing with Twitter, which was launched just last week, is already proving to be a hit amongst its users. Today, the social media app hit 100M users, according to Quiver Quantitative, a data tracking site that Threads works with. The data’s explanation says that “These numbers are estimates which are generated using the Threads account numbers shown on Instagram pages.” This means that the numbers could be slightly off (on the underestimated side), considering that the page is being refreshed “semi-manually” by the data tracking company. The reason for the app blowing up so quickly may be thanks to the easy onboarding process, with Meta automatically linking users’ Instagram account details with their new Threads account. And YPulse’s most recent Viral List tells you all about how the new app is dominating so quickly, especially with our data showing Instagram has far more Gen Z and Millennial users than Twitter.
