WhatsApp collaborated with a former English football player for its women’s safety-centered campaign. The messaging platform launched their latest campaign with Arsenal Football Club star Alex Scott to promote their new privacy credentials including Chat Lock and Disappearing Messages. One ad features a woman confiding in her friend after finding out she’s pregnant, using Chat Lock to keep her messages private, while the other features the footballer in front of different mirrors with messages promoting women to check on their friends. Scott is stressing the importance of this campaign for the safety and support of women, saying that she “hope[s] it helps women all over the world know they’re not alone in whatever struggles they may be facing.” YPulse’s Causes / Charity & Activism report shows that mental health help / care is the top social issue Gen Z and Millennials are most passionate about.
