Young French people leave the nest at an earlier age compared to other European countries.

Jun 14 2023

Young French people leave the nest at an earlier age compared to other European countries. According to a new study by the National Institute for Youth and Popular Education (Injep), young French people leave their parental home at the age of 23.6 on average, three years earlier than the European average. While factors such as longer studies, high real estate prices, and difficulties in finding employment contribute to the trend of young people living with their parents longer, it’s not hindering young French consumers from getting on the property ladder. Data from YPulse’s WE Finance / Spending Monitor Report shows that only 24% of young French adults currently live with their parents. (La Croix)
