7-Eleven’s “Anything Flows” campaign is giving the classic Slurpee a makeover. The brand’s iconic frozen drink’s logo and cups are getting revamped with “eccentric colors and eclectic vibes” as part of their new marketing campaign to target their younger audience, especially Gen Z. The Brainfreeze Collective, the company’s customer research panel, helped 7-Eleven with the creative process, aiming to “tap into nostalgia for the brand and beverage while looking towards the future.” Along with the re-design, the campaign will also include four TV ads highlighting each Slurpee flavor: Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Pina Colada, and a “mixed-up” flavor. To go along with the revamp, a merch collection will be available on the 7Collection e-commerce site including bucket hats and Slurpee-shaped pool floats. A both nostalgia and future-forward effort from the iconic convenience store proves long-standing brands can win over young consumers without completely ditching their classic looks by updating them to Gen Z’s interest.
