Even after their recall, Boppy baby loungers are still for sale on Facebook. Boppy Company was forced to recall their Boppy lounger in 2021, following 10 infant suffocation deaths reported by the company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commision. However, thousands of the recalled products are still up on Facebook Marketplace for families to purchase. This is cause for concern, as the CPSC commissioner puts it, because “until these sales are stopped, babies will continue to be at risk of death.” In terms of steps taken for action, the agency is trying to work with Meta to take down all postings for Boppy’s baby loungers. So far, 1K requests have been submitted for product posts to be removed from Facebook. (Washington Post)
