Spanish Gen Z are fueling the resurgent interest in bullfighting in the country. Bullfighting is experiencing its biggest year in seven years now, and the largest group of attendees are teenagers aged 15-19-years-old. While only 2% of Spaniards attended a bullfight last year, there’s always heated debate in Spain around the traditional sport, with one side claiming cultural legitimacy, and the other pointing at animal abuse. Spanish Gen Z are driving the resurrection of the sport, but YPulse’s data also shows that animal rights are the top social cause Spanish young people are the most passionate about. (Independent)
