Starbucks launched the prototype of a new olive oil-infused coffee in Milan. Starbucks only launched in Italy in 2018, and like other European countries, it didn’t receive the warmest welcome from locals. But now, Starbucks is testing new products for Italian consumers. And while adding olive oil in coffee sounds like a viral social media challenge, it’s Starbuck’s newest addition to their menu. According to Starbucks’ CEO Howard Shultz, olive oil adds an “unexpected, velvety, buttery flavor” to coffee—but only time can tell if the new Starbucks Oleato will be a hit among young consumers.
