Midsize fashion models and influencers are creating diversity and inclusivity in the industry.

Jan 13 2023

Midsize fashion models and influencers are creating diversity and inclusivity in the industry. YPulse research shows that 70% of Gen Z would feel more positively about a brand who features models with a range of body types in an ad. Young consumers want to see models that look like them and want influencers who showcase realistic fashion content on social media. And this isn’t far-fetched for brands: according to the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology and Education, “the average American woman wears a size 16-18.” The hashtag #MidsizeFashion currently has 2.5B views on TikTok and features videos of Gen Z and Millennials showing off clothing hauls and try-ons. Celebs and influencers like Lizzo, @shelbysaywhatblog, and @TheBigGuyFashion are normalizing body positivity in the fashion industry. (USA Today)
