Gen Z and Millennials are leaving little room in their budgets for dining out amid inflation. YPulse research shows that of all their expenses, dining out / ordering takeout is the thing Gen Z and Millennials are most likely to say they’ll cut back on in a recession. Now, according to PYMNTS’ Restaurant Digital Divide study of over 2K restaurant frequenters, 88% of Gen Z and Millennials have made changes to their dining habits in response to rising prices. Young consumers are collectively cutting back on how often they dine in and order out from restaurants and now they’re preferring places with much cheaper menu items. The study also found that Gen Z is most likely to visit expensive restaurants less often or not at all while Millennials are most likely to decrease the amount of food per restaurant order. (PYMNTS)
