More than a third of France’s 2022 bestseller books were comic books. The list of last year’s most successful books in France is out, and 18 titles of the top 50 were comic books, showing how popular the genre has become among French consumers. The top-selling title—World Without End—is also a comic book, and nearly half a million copies were sold last year. Young French consumers are so into comics that a health charity even released a comic book to get their attention on the topic of eczema.
