Mastercard is diving deeper into the future of tech with a new Web3 incubator program for aspiring musical artists. The past year was super experimental for Mastercard: In October, they launched a service to help cardholders make secure crypto payments—and now they’re moving a step further in the digital economy with Web3 tools. The new program is designed to help emerging artists reach fans by teaching them how to develop skills in “NFTs, represent themselves in virtual worlds and establish a community.” Participants will work alongside experts and innovators in the phygital space who will show them “how to incorporate Web3 into their work.” YPulse predicts phygital launches like this are going to redefine brands’ Web3 experiences in 2023, especially since we’re already seeing brands like Starbucks and Nike offering digital collectibles for loyalty members through games.
