Spill is the new Twitter alternative for overlooked BIPOC creators. Twitter’s future has been much debated since Elon Musk’s takeover, and while YPulse data shows Gen Z and Millennials aren’t abandoning the app altogether just yet, it looks like some BIPOC creators are ready for their own platform. Black Twitter recently threw a Twitter funeral—and now, they’re jumping on Spill, “a new social platform structured as an alternative to Twitter, to offer Black Twitter users a new space for trendsetters and culture drivers.” The app’s two creators, Alphonzo “Phonz” Terrell and DeVaris Brown, both former Twitter employees, describe the platform as “a real-time conversational platform that puts culture first.” Spill will be for everyone, but it will be sure to give credit where its due and is going to be “catering to culture drivers who frequently set new trends yet routinely get overlooked and under compensated.” (Black Enterprise)
