The Wall Street Journal is reaching young consumers where they’re getting their news the most.

Dec 19 2022

The Wall Street Journal is reaching young consumers where they’re getting their news the most. YPulse’s News Consumption and Trust report shows that social media is the top place Gen Z and Millennials get news and up-to-date-information, and nearly half (48%) of Gen Z who get their news on social media get it through TikTok. The TikTok news craze isn’t letting up—and now more publications are joining the platform, too. The Wall Street Journal launched its TikTok page in early October and has grown over 37K followers and 600K likes since. The publication is acknowledging that if they only report in text, they’re missing a whole demographic of young audiences who get their news in visual / short-form displays. For now, their TikTok page is focusing on three categories: careers, personal finance, and tech, but some videos include viral content like Ticketmaster’s recent issue with Taylor Swift tickets.
