French fashion brand Lacoste has launched a seasonal metaverse store to bring shopping, gaming, and NFTs to its customers. The store is composed of three virtual rooms—accessed by going through a crocodile’s mouth—and customers who already own an NFT from Lacoste can access a VIP-only space to buy exclusive products. The opening of this virtual shopping experience happens just in time for the holiday shopping frenzy, and represents Lacoste’s most recent attempt to position itself as a brand that is looking to the future, and is building a stronger sense of community among its most devoted customers. This is not Lacoste’s first attempt in the burgeoning web3 space: earlier this year, the French designer brand released the Croco Island as part of a collab with Minecraft, and last June it even launched its own NFT “UNDW3.” (The Drum)
