Asian creators are giving the viral Wednesday dance their own cultural spin. In particular, @raasibomma and @llalouu_ on TikTok have taken the viral moment to show off their own cultural moves. First, “dancer and lifestyle creator @raasibomma, whose video garnered over 5 million views, showed her dressed all in black with braids performing her version of the dance in Kuchipudi — a dance style of India.” Then, @llalouu_, (also a dancer) gained over 3.5 million views in her video where she “performed a blend of Polynesian dances…also dressed in all black with a Polynesian dancing belt called a hip hei and her hair in a braided crown.” Commenters on both videos were in awe of their content and raved about being exposed to their cultures’ beauty.
