The new Instafest app is letting Spotify users create their own personal music festival lineups. Instafest has instantly become a trending companion to Spotify’s “Wrapped” (which just came out today!) by showing users their top listened to artists and how their personal lineup would look like at their own coordinated music festival. When logging in to Instafest, users can connect to their Spotify account username and password and the app generates a lineup “poster” based on users’ top artists from either the last four weeks or the last six months. Plus, they’re able to choose from various graphic design styles and colors similar to a Coachella display and have the app rate their music tastes on a “basic” level percentage scale. Gen Z and Millennials (along with celebs like Questlove) are rapidly jumping on the trend by downloading and sharing their Instafest lineups on their Instagram stories and Twitter. YPulse’s Music report shows that the majority of Gen Z and Millennials use music to express themselves and 61% agree: “Most of the new music I hear is on social media.” (TechCrunch)
