Asian American college students are speaking out in support of affirmative action.

Nov 09 2022

Asian American college students are speaking out in support of affirmative action. The Supreme Court will soon be deciding the future of affirmative action in a case brought against Harvard University and UNC. But while there is a “small faction” of young people who are supportive of ending “race-conscious admissions,” many students on these campuses are rallying to protect the diversity at their schools. With “[v]oter surveys show[ing] that 69% of Asian Americans support affirmative action,” it’s clear that these policies have made a difference for BIPOC Gen Z and Millennials. Supporters of affirmative action site the profound impact that a diverse body of students has had on their own lives, and say they worry that future generations will not experience the same.
