After all the buzz around TikTok and in-app games, the platform is finally gearing up for a dedicated gaming tab. Gen Z’s favorite app will soon launch their new gaming tab that will allow users to play mobile games—and of course feature ads and payable options for additional content. It’s being teased that the platform may officially make their announcement on November 2nd, which is when they’ll be hosting their “first global gaming event” using the hashtag #TikTokMadeMePlayIt (a nod to the popular tag #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt). It’s difficult to say if users will be into it—while they’ve proven that they want apps to stay true to their original functionality (see how users reacted to Instagram pushing Reels), we also know just how much they love both TikTok and mobile gaming.
