Travel has officially returned to pre-pandemic levels—and new luggage startups are here with Gen Z’s taste for adventure in mind. While brands like Away and Calpak stole Millennials’ hearts in “Pack With Me” videos on YouTube, new and exciting brands are stepping on the scene as travel comes back. According to the U.S. Travel Association, “between April and July, travel spending in the US exceeded 2019 levels,” and the growing demand to get out of the house has created new opportunities for new brands like Baboon To The Moon, July, Roam, Monos, and Béis. Baboon To The Moon, for example, has been attracting Gen Z consumers with their practical yet fun and colorful bags, and of course what’s really helping them is their strong TikTok presence. YPulse’s Travel report data shows that over a quarter of Gen Z travelers are interested in taking a trip to post unique things on social media, so of course they’ll be wanting to do so with fashionable luggage.
