Forty percent of Millennials are interested in super-apps…but what does that mean? According to Google, “a super-app is a mobile or web application that can provide multiple services including payment and financial transaction processing, effectively becoming an all-encompassing self-contained commerce and communication online platform that embraces many aspects of personal and commercial life.” Still confused? Alipay, Rappi, and WeChat are a few examples. Since young consumers are already going through most of their day-to-day lives online, they wouldn’t mind having an app where they can have everything they need in one place. A recent report from PYMNTS and PayPal found that Gen Z and Millennials are buying groceries monthly, tracking their health data, and buying local transportation on their devices the most. YPulse’s Media Consumption report shows that young consumers can experience decision fatigue with too many apps and streaming services. (PYMNTS)
