TikTok is looking to partner with TalkShopLive as they advance their live shopping efforts. YPulse research shows that live shopping grew popular over the pandemic as more consumers were shopping online in general. But now that the risks of COVID have lightened up, our Shopping and Retail report shows that the majority of young consumers are preferring to shop in-person. In order to tackle this, social platforms are amping up their shopping engagement—and TikTok, Gen Z’s favorite app, is in the process of striking a deal with TalkShopLive that “will allow creators and brands to sell goods through videos on the platform.” The California-based company takes “a 10% commission from sellers for providing its services, and [reportedly] TikTok is likely to cover that cost for the initial phase of the project.” (TechCrunch)
