Ulta Beauty just added eight BIPOC brands as a part of their MUSE Accelerator program.

Oct 04 2022

Ulta Beauty just added eight BIPOC brands as a part of their MUSE Accelerator program. Ulta recently launched their 10 week initiative to “drive greater acceptance, diversity, equity and inclusion in the beauty industry through supporting emerging brands.” The retailer is set on educating up-and-coming businesses and providing them with mentorship, resources, and $50K in financial support. The eight businesses involved include: Pound Cake, a cosmetics company aimed at diverse skin / lip tones; Squigs, a skin and hair brand with luxury ingredients; OURSIDE, a fragrance brand; Bonita Fierce Candles, a candle brand that’s celebrating diversity; Sade Baron, a mother-daughter duo who created a body care line; YINA, a beauty / wellness brand inspired by Asian medicine and rituals; The Refig, a bottle-free hair care company for curls and eco-friendly beauty solutions; and Dehiya Beauty, plant-based and sustainably sourced skincare. YPulse’s recent BIPOC special report data shows that beauty / skincare is the top thing BIPOC young people trust brands to teach them about.
