OnlyFans is building incentive for non-explicit content—and appealing to comedians. Although the platform is known for their NSFW content, OnlyFans is branching out by launching a new Creator Fund: Comedy Edition “which will let creators in the U.K. and Ireland compete for the chance to win a total of £100,000…and appear in a reality-competition series on OFTV, its non-pornographic streaming service.” During the second week of October, creators can “submit a five-minute clip of their comedy, which may include stand-up sets, comedy sketches or improv routines,” to a panel of judges. While they’re going to continue to support adult creators, they’re ultimately looking to bring mainstream celebs to the forefront and make OnlyFans a space for all genres of content. YPulse research shows that even brands are jumping in on the platform as it’s popularity among young adults surges. (Variety)
