Spanish fast-fashion company Zara is launching its third “phygital” collection in the metaverse platform Zepeto. Last year, YPulse told you how the fast fashion powerhouse launched itself into the metaverse through the virtual platform Zepeto. From there, Zara started two “phygital” collections (think items that can be found in the metaverse and IRL): one with the Korean brand Ader Error, and another one called ‘Lime Glam’. For its third metacollection, Zara decided to tap into young people’s love for the 2000’s and is also planning to expand the wardrobe in stores. It features typical Y2K-inspired outfits such as skirts, strapless dresses, and — you guessed it — flared pants. Like previous collections, some items will exclusively be accessible for digital avatars. YPulse’s Metaverse Trend found that 65% of virtual world gamers in Western Europe like when brands make products that their virtual avatars can wear, and 60% have already purchased digital clothing for their virtual selves.
