A Millennial mom went viral for saying her Count the Kicks app saved her baby’s life. Count the Kicks is an app designed for parents to monitor their pregnancies by fetal movement. First-time mom Shamari Cooke was using the app as recommended when one night, she found her baby had not kicked in hours. Thanks to the routine of using the app, Cooke and her husband went to the hospital, where it was ultimately determined Cooke needed an emergency C-section. Count the Kicks says on their social media parents should monitor their babies’ kicks every day in the third trimester, and an ambassador for Count the Kicks says that using an app like this could potentially lower the rates of stillbirths. YPulse data shows that 59% of Millennials who are not currently parents want to have children, and apps like this can especially help first-time parents learn more about their pregnancy. (Mother.ly)
