Amazon’s live radio app Amp is rewarding creators who build loyal audiences. After releasing Amp in March this year, the creative live “radio show” platform wants to give back to their most active DJs, talk-show hosts, and those who simply enjoy chatting about music. In their new creators fund, Amazon plans on providing payments “based on show performance and listener engagement, such as show popularity with new and recurring listeners.” Each month, Amp creators will be eligible to receive awards, although Amazon has yet to explicitly say how much creators will be offered. YPulse’s New Content Creators trend research shows that a quarter of Gen Z and Millennials say making money motivates them to create content but their biggest motivation comes from being able to express their creative side.
