When it comes to recessions, Millennials can’t seem to catch a break.

Sep 13 2022

When it comes to recessions, Millennials can’t seem to catch a break. Having lived through the 2008 recession as well as the pandemic induced one, Millennials were ready for stability in their careers. They kickstarted the Great Resignation and began to search for better opportunities. YPulse’s Employment and Career Goals report data shows 41% of Millennials say they plan to get a new job within the next year. But as more companies cull their staff, Millennials are getting laid off the most. According to a survey of 1,700 workers who lost their jobs since March by Revelio Labs, the most likely to be let go are new Millennial hires. They report, “[M]illennials make up about 79% of the workforce of the companies that had layoffs, but made up 94% of the laid-off workers.” (FortuneInsider)
