Starburst is launching TikTok videos into space in a new mission to reach Gen Z. YPulse’s Cooking and Diets report data shows that Gen Z eats the most candy/sweets in a typical weekday; and after finding out they’re also the generation most interested in space, Starburst is appealing to them through their “Ask the Universe” campaign. Starting today through October 14th, TikTok users will be encouraged by astrophysicist and influencer Kristen Banks to upload a TikTok video where they ask, “‘How do they make Starburst taste so juicy?’ and use the #BeamItUpStarburst hashtag for a chance for the video to be beamed into space via a partnership with SpaceSpeak.” Creators will get the chance to track their video via a “microsite” Starburst to see how far their video traveled through the universe.
