Disney is working on an Amazon Prime-like membership program. As we all know, Disney has a lot of content—and now they’re looking for more ways to sell it. While the official name won’t be Disney Prime, the company’s execs are referring to it as such. A potential Disney Prime will offer members “various exclusive perks, discounts, and other enticements for subscribers to spend more money on Disney products and services.” Plus, Disney will have another avenue to track their customers’ consumption habits in addition to their streaming services, theme parks, and merch. Ypulse’s Media Consumption report data shows that about half of Gen Z and Millennials agree that they pay for too many streaming services right now and that fatigue may impact Disney’s new membership subscription.
