Heinz is teaming up with ThredUp for thrifted clothes with ketchup stains. August was quite a ketchup-filled month, with Rihanna’s ketchup packet makeup as well as the launch of Doritos’ condiment flavored chips. Now, The Heinz Vintage Drip collection launched this week on ThredUp and includes 157 pieces of designer streetwear—and each piece harbors a unique ketchup stain. Making a play on the Gen Z and Millennial slang word for fashion “drip,” Heinz is promoting the collection using the pun, “Clothing drops are everywhere, but Heinz made the original drop.” The collection is ultimately a way for the brand to appeal to young consumers through a push for sustainability with 100% of their proceeds going to Rise Against Hunger in support of global hunger relief. YPulse’s Sustainability report data shows almost half (47%) of Gen Z and Millennials buy secondhand clothing. (Marketing Dive, Food & Wine)
