Millennials are “nostalgia-stanning,” or in other words, dating people they share nostalgia with.

Sep 02 2022

Millennials are “nostalgia-stanning,” or in other words, dating people they share nostalgia with. According to a Plenty of Fish survey, ‘“nostalgia-stanning’ is the integration of aughts-era (2000 to 2009) dating habits and trends into the present-day dating experiences.” The survey of 26-41-year-olds found that 57% of singles agree that they’re more interested in partners who get their early ‘00s references (like “you jump, I jump” from Titanic). Over a quarter base connections on their music and entertainment interests and 67% say they’re “nostalgia-stanners” because life was simply easier back then. Of course with all the Y2K nostalgia Gen Z and Millennials have been fueling, it makes sense that Millennials are incorporating it into their love lives, too. (Pure Wow)
