Manifestation audios are promising TikTok users good fortune—but WitchTokers are not claiming them.

Manifestation audios are promising TikTok users good fortune—but WitchTokers are not claiming them. Content under various trending sounds on the app are encouraging users to like, comment, and share the videos to “claim their energy,” in order to manifest more money, love, and good health. The original video for one of the sounds, “I don’t chase, I attract,” has “upwards of 6 million likes and has been shared over 700,000 times” with comments like, “It works! I just landed my dream job!” Meanwhile, WitchTokers who use and teach their viewers about manifestation practices are now warning against these types of viral videos. Some are against the now mainstream manifestations and say, “People will always try to latch onto trends when they are in fear…and with it getting harder and harder to be seen on social media, people will use any gimmick they can if they have to.” YPulse data shows over a quarter of Gen Z consider themselves spiritual and by making manifestation videos viral on their favorite app, they’re continuing to show it in modern ways.
