Taco Bell is marrying couples in the metaverse.

Aug 31 2022

Taco Bell is marrying couples in the metaverse. The fast food chain is expanding their wedding services (yes, they already host IRL wedding ceremonies) by offering consumers the chance to win a personalized virtual wedding event that will be hosted on Decentraland this fall. Through September 6th, “engaged couples can submit a registration form and video detailing their love story, Taco Bell fandom and why they want to tie the knot virtually.” The event will include typical traditions, like exchanging vows and rings followed by dancing and toasts. The chain is taking on “modern love” by encouraging participants to “post their submissions on Instagram and TikTok to get the hashtag #TacoBellMetaverseWeddingContest trending.” YPulse research shows Gen Z and Millennials are bringing new styles, inspo, and rules to weddings this year, so a metaverse wedding isn’t too shocking to us.
