Spotify is selling tickets for live music events directly to users. Now that ByteDance is gearing up for their own music service (TikTok Music) and TikTok is partnering with Ticketmaster, Spotify is taking matters into their own hands. For many apps right now, the competition is steep against Gen Z’s favorite app, but Spotify is reaching them by selling tickets directly. In a new site, the platform is listing upcoming concerts, letting users purchase tickets, and under the My Events section users can look at their past and future bookings. Their Tickets website currently features artists like “Limbeck, Crow, Annie DiRusso, Four Years Strong and TOKiMONSTA that are performing in the U.S. in the coming months.” YPulse’s Experiences report data shows 28% of 13-39-year-olds are currently interested in attending in-person concerts / festivals.
