Gen Z and Millennial influencers are gearing up for midterm elections. With election season approaching, the Democratic National Committee is building an online hub aimed at sending the party’s messaging beyond their usual scope. According to the DNC, “the hub creates a central online destination for influencers, surrogates, and supporters to receive party-sponsored talking points, messaging, and a wide variety of digital content to post on their own social media feeds.” The party is connecting with TikTok influencers via Slack and in private messaging groups, but Greenfly is their primary distribution platform and provides the DNC with more insight into what content is being shared the most. They should keep in mind that YPulse’s Celebrities and Influencers report data shows 58% of Gen Z and Millennials say when it comes to what kind of online celebrity they trust, “it doesn’t matter how many followers someone has.” (The Verge)
